Following inter-community clashes in the Logone and Chari division (Far North Cameroon) which caused a massive displacement of the local populations to Chad, especially to the localities of Mandalia, N'djamena, Oumdouma, Ngama Kotoko, Gamal, Malfana, Liberia, Djazira and Bourgama,

On Wednesday 8th December 2022, the Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon in Chad carried out an assessment of the situation in the Chadian province of Chagri Bagrimi, in the presence of Administrative Authorities of the host country (Governor, Divisional Officers, Mayors etc.) and humanitarian workers including staff of the UNHCR and WFP.

This action was followed the next day, by the delivery of substantial consular support to our compatriots in distress in the presence of the Mayor of the District of N'Djamena I, the Administrative Director of the local Commission in charge of refugee issues and Humanitarian actors (UNHCR and WFP).

The donation was handed over by the Minister Plenipotentiary Oumar NCHARE, First Counselor, representing HE Mr. MOHAMAN Sani Tanimou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cameroon in Chad. It consisted of sleeping materials (mattresses, mats, blankets, mosquito nets) and social distancing material to prevent COVID19 infection.

A hot meal was also served to the refugees at the end of this operation.
