H.E. MBELLA MBELLA, CAMEROONIAN MINISTER OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS, CHAIRS AN OIC EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERIAL MEETING TO DISCUSS DEVELOPMENTS IN PALESTINE

As the Chair of the 50th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Cameroon, represented by the Minister of External Relations, H.E. MBELLA MBELLA, took part in the 20th extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), covened at the Headquarters of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 7 Ramadan 1446 A.H., corresponding to 7 March 2025.
Requested by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the meeting was held amid new developments in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including calls for the displacement of Palestinians.
During his opening remarks, H.E. MBELLA MBELLA called on member States to once again express their steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people by providing them the necessary humanitarian assistance and continuing efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to this longstanding conflict, in accordance with with relevant United Nations resolutions and regional peace initiatives.
His speech was followed by many interventions notably the one of H.E. Mamadou Tangara, Minister of Foreign Affairs Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of The Gambia, as his country is the current chair of the Islamic Summit.
Speeches of H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the OIC and the Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, H.E. Mohammad Mustafa were amongst those delivered during the meeting.
The meeting adopted a resolution and a decision on the resumption of Syria’s membership in the OIC.
