As part of his activities in Windhoek, H.E. Felix MBAYU, Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, also granted audience to the Australian Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hon. Matthew THISTLETHWAITE, on Wednesday 18 June 2025.

The Ministers’ discussions focused on the expected reform of the World Trade Organization (WTO), as Cameroon prepares to host the 14th World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference (MC14) in March 2026. They talked about three key issues of the proposed reform, namely: dispute settlement, rule-making, and deliberations, with the Australian diplomat pledging his government’s full support to Cameroon during its chairmanship, expressing the hope that there will be positive outcomes following next year’s meeting.
