ENHANCING DIPLOMATIC PRESENCE

Staff of the Minister of External Relations who presented their New Year Wishes to Minister Mbella Mbella and Minister Felix Mbayu on January 21, 2025 were encouraged to work in greater synergy to enlarge Cameroon’s diplomatic presence.

Staff of the Ministry of External Relations presented their New Year wishes for 2025 to their Excellencies, the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella and the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu.

The event which took place on January 21, 2025 at the esplanade of the Ministry featured two speeches, one from Minister Mbella Mbella, which basically contained prospects in diplomacy and the other from the Secretary General, Chinmoun Oumarou, who highlighted the strides made by staff in enhancing Cameroon’s diplomacy and some of their expectations from hierarchy.

As a show of love, solidarity and fraternity, a bouquet of flower was offered the Ministers by the staff. The beauty of the courtyard and the songs from the choir of the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) easily translated the atmosphere of conviviality that reigned between the leaders of the Ministry and their collaborators.

The New Year wishes event served as a moment of taking stock of activities and achievements in 2024, and receive instructions from hierarchy on priorities for 2025 as well as operational guidelines.

The Minister exhorted his collaborators and the staff of the Ministry to valorise their talents and work in synergy, which to him is the most apt way of surmounting challenges. He stressed on giving dynamism to cooperation ties and defending the viewpoint of Cameroon on contemporary issues. The respect of the sovereignty of States, Minister Mbella Mbella noted is the basis of Cameroon’s diplomacy.

In 2025, Minister Mbella Mbella said major actions of the Ministry of External Relations will be geared at diversifying partners, reinforcing cooperation in the economic and commercial domain, with a view of promoting the import-substitution policy and attainting the National Development Strategy 2030 policy of government.
