The Official Commemorative Ceremony of the 2021 Commonwealth Day and Silver Jubilee of Cameroon - Commonwealth Cooperation took place on Wednesday 10 March 2021, at the Ministry of External Relations, in the presence of the Minister, H.E. Mbella Mbella.
Members of Government, the Diplomatic Corps, and other stakeholders came together for the solemn and sober event that unfolded in compliance with the COVID-19 barrier measures.
The ceremony featured the Keynote Address of the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, H.E. Felix Mbayu, the reading of the Queen's Commonwealth Day Message, a speech delivered by the South African High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E. Kgomotso Ruth Magau, on behalf of the Commonwealth Diplomatic Family in Cameroon, a video projection of the United Commonwealth COVID 19 Music Project - Simple Gifts, and the award of prizes to the winners of various national Commonwealth Day competitions.
After the group photograph, dignitaries and participants took turns to sign the condolence book for the late Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Islamic World, H.E. Adoum Gargoum, who passed away on 8 March 2021.
