On 9 January 2022, the 2021 TotalEnergies AFCON Village set up by the Cameroonian Embassy in Chad, became operational, as part of  endeavours to enable Cameroonians, other Africans, and football fans in Ndjamena, to follow the live coverage of the Tournament. The village was inaugurated by the Chadian Minister of Youth and Sports, in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires at the Cameroonian Embassy, Chadian authorities, Senior Officials, and diplomats from other countries. After watching the Opening Ceremony on a large projector screen, and the first match, sealed with the victory of the Indomitable Lions, attendees were treated to a meal offered by the Cameroonian Ambassador to Chad, and a remarkable performance by the Chadian national ballet.
