Celebration of the 49th anniversary of National Unity at the Embassy of Cameroon in Malabo

In line with the Head of State’s instructions, underlining the need for compliance with the COVID-19 barrier measures that are in force, the Cameroonian Embassy in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, organised low-key activities to mark the 49th edition of the National Day, in lieu of the traditional official reception.

In this light, the Ambassador’s message to the Cameroonian community was broadcast via social media platforms, and a symbolic commemoration at the Cameroonian Residence, on 20 May, brought together Embassy staff, some Cameroonian elites, and dignitaries including the Equatoguinean Deputy Minister of Tourism and his spouse, who congratulated the Ambassador, H.E. DÉSIRÉ JEAN CLAUDE OWONO MENGUELE, his wife, and the entire Cameroonian community, on the celebration of the National Day. The hosts cut a cake, in the colours of the Cameroonian flag, as a highpoint of the celebration that ended with a prayer service for Cameroon on Sunday 23 May 2021, at a local church.
