At the invitation of the Chadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Chadians Abroad, H.E. Amine Abba-Sidick, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E. Iya Tidjani, attended an important meeting on 22 March 2021, that set the stage for discussions on bilateral and multilateral issues of common interest to both countries, including the consolidation of the African position on several aspects within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (O.I.C.).
The Cameroonian Plenipotentiary was solicited in his capacity as Dean of the African Group and in light of Cameroon's active participation within the O.I.C. The Chadian Delegation also used the opportunity to thank Cameroon for the crucial role that the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Islamic World, H.E. Adoum Gargoum played, with regard to the election of H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, as the Secretary General of the O.I.C. during the 47th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, in November 2020, and to convey sincere condolences to the Government and people of Cameroon following the death of H.E. Adoum Gargoum.
