WOMEN’S DAY 2026: MINREX Valourises Competences
Commemorative activities to mark this year’s edition of Women’s Day were launched at the Ministry of External Relations last Tuesday, March, 2026. The Secretary General of the Ministry, H.E Oumarou Chinmoun chaired the event to officially kick-start various activities which aimed at celebrating women in diplomacy. This year’s activities are commemorated under the theme; “Rights, Justice, Action: For All Women and Girls,” and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has, for its part, retained the sub-theme, “Rights of Women and Girls: International Commitments and Concrete Actions of Cameroonian Diplomacy.” The President of the Association of Dynamic Women in Diplomacy (DYFEDCAM), Sylvie Elung, who is equally Inspector General at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Services, explained that the themes reflect desire to combine international commitments and concrete actions, in order to promote the full recognition of the rights of women and girls, both in the professional environment as well as cultural and social initiatives.
Women, through their stands exhibited the different products they fabricate and highlighted their creativity as well as other potentials. Week-long activities include the human investment day which took place on March 4 and is dedicated to cohesion, hygiene and cleanliness at the workplace, the gastronomy to be held on March 6 and will focus on promoting Cameroonian cuisine and sharing culinary talents. This event will also witness the participation of the gastronomy from some friendly countries: Brazil, Spain, China and Central African Republic and the march past on March 8 at the May 20 Boulevard in Yaounde.
