COMMONWEALTH DAY 2026 COMMEMORATIVE ACTIVITIES: THE PETER ESSOKA AWARDS CEREMONY FOR EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM

On 16 March 2026, the Minister of External Relations, H.E. Mbella Mbella, chaired the Peter Essoka Prize ceremony for excellence in journalism, as part of commemorative activities carried out in Cameroon for Commonwealth Day 2026.

Several Members of Government, Heads of Diplomatic Missions of Commonwealth member countries accredited to Cameroon, as well as Cameroonian Dignitaries and journalists were in attendance, on that occasion.

It is worth mentioning that this distinguished new award aims to recognise outstanding achievement in newscasting and animation, on radio and television in the English language.
