H.E. MBELLA MBELLA at the ministerial session of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU)
H.E. MBELLA MBELLA, Minister of External Relations, took part today, virtually, in the ministerial session of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU). This session, which was held under the rotating presidency of Uganda for the month of June, had the theme: “Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons and Humanitarian Assistance in Africa”.
The discussions focused, among other things:
- The need to strengthen conflict prevention and promote political solutions to crises in Africa;
- The establishment of a mechanism of solidarity and sharing of responsibilities between African States for the care of refugees and Internally Displaced Persons;
- And the urgent need for an increase in humanitarian aid to meet the growing needs of populations affected by conflicts and natural disasters.
