The Minister Delegate for Cooperation with the Commonwealth

H.E. Dr. Felix MBAYU is Minister Plenipotentiary super scale. Since March 03, 2018 till date, he is Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth of the Republic of Cameroon. He is a seasoned Diplomat who has served in the Cameroonian public service for over 40 years.

Born in the town of Mankon, Bamenda, in the nothwest region of Cameroon, Minister MBAYU, started his rich diplomatic carrer in the Central Administration in Yaoundé before being posted to serve his country abroad. He is one of the few diplomats who have occupied all the duty posts of the organizational chart of Cameroon Diplomacy starting with the rank of assistant service head right through to the rank of Minister in the Ministry of External Relations.

During his service abroad, he was Head of Mission in Japan before moving to the Permanent Mission of Cameroon to the United Nations in New York. While in New York, he was amongst many other functions, vice president of the Executive Board of UNDP/UNFPA, facilitator for UN Resolutions on Financing for Development, and lead African Group Negotiator for the Millennium declaration at the United Nations.

Minister MBAYU is very active in Community Development through his political actions. In recent years, 02 separate Presidential decrees appointed him as Rapporteur of the Major National Dialogue (MND) and Secretary of the Committee to follow up the implementation of the recommendation of the Major National Dialogue, positions which he occupies till date. He equally played a key role in the organisation of Presidential, Legislative and municipal Elections in Cameroon.

In recognition of this service to Cameroon, he has been awarded several decorations like the medal of officer of the national order of valour. He is also holder of the medal of grant officer order of Merit.
